Welcome to Chaverim of NEPA. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our services, including the emergency response services provided by our volunteers and the SMS notifications you receive as part of these services. By using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Provided

Chaverim of NEPA is a volunteer-based emergency response organization. We assist individuals in need by dispatching volunteers to help with various non-life-threatening emergencies (e.g., vehicle lockouts, roadside assistance, etc.). Our services are provided at no cost to the community, but users are expected to:

Provide accurate and truthful information when requesting assistance.
Understand that response times may vary based on volunteer availability.

2. SMS Notifications

When you request emergency assistance through our hotline, you may opt in to receive SMS notifications from us. These notifications are used solely to provide updates on the status of your request, such as the estimated arrival time (ETA) of the volunteer dispatched to assist you.

Opt-In:

You must explicitly opt in to receive SMS updates by confirming your consent during the initial call or by replying "START" to our SMS request.

Opt-Out:

You can opt out of receiving SMS notifications at any time by replying "STOP" to any message. Once you opt out, you will no longer receive any SMS updates related to your emergency request.

3. User Responsibilities

By using Chaverim of NEPA’s services, you agree to:

Provide accurate contact information, including a valid phone number for SMS updates.
Consent to receive SMS messages if you opt in, understanding that these messages are transactional and meant for emergency updates only.
Ensure that you have the necessary permissions (if you're calling on behalf of someone else) to share their contact details with us.

4. Limitations of Service

Our services are provided by volunteers and are intended to assist with non-life-threatening emergencies. Please be aware of the following limitations:

Response Times: We aim to respond as quickly as possible, but due to volunteer availability, traffic conditions, and other factors, we cannot guarantee specific response times.
No Warranties: We provide our services on a best-effort basis and make no guarantees or warranties regarding the timeliness, quality, or completeness of the assistance provided.

5. Disclaimers

Chaverim of NEPA and its volunteers are not responsible for any damages, losses, or injuries resulting from delays in response, inability to assist, or other factors beyond our control.

We do not provide professional or medical services. If you are experiencing a medical or life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately.

6. Data Use and Privacy

Please refer to our [Privacy Policy](insert privacy policy link) for details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, including the phone numbers used for SMS updates.

7. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Terms on our website. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of our services after any changes signifies your acceptance of the updated Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms and any disputes arising from your use of our services will be governed by the laws of the State of PA, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
